SMART FARMING AND PRECISION AGRICULTURE

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

We use NDVI imaging by high-resolution drones with red light spectral filters to quantify vegetation index which is useful in understanding growth density and assessing changes in plant health. We also use a stationary meteorological station, soil sensors, a 24kg capacity sprayer drone, and a GPS in our arable farming operations.

IRRIGATION SYSTEM

Irrigation is vital in smart arable farming as a reliable and effective method for watering grain during periods of low rainfall. Metagro successfully commissioned an irrigation system on 100 ha of land in 2022. We are currently focusing on carrying out a thorough analysis of smart watering systems which will inform the expansion of our irrigation system.

NO TILLAGE

We are introducing a variety of crop management tools and technological advancements in the industry, such as no-tillage technology that preserves soil moisture with straw cover during winter, smart techniques to enhance crop yield and efficient machinery.
